Fly to Corfu
An alternative, which many people prefer, is to book their flight to the Greek island of Corfu. Corfu is just outside Saranda. Once you land in Corfu, the easiest way is to take a taxi from the airport to the port to board one of the hydrofoils that will take you over to the port of Saranda. Another option that also usually offers a better price on air travel is to fly to Albania's capital, Tirana. Tirana is 281 km north of Saranda and here you can choose to rent a car, book a taxi or take a bus. The journey time is about 3 hours. Choosing this option also has another advantage. Apart from the fact that the prices of the tickets are usually better, the best thing is that you get to see so much more of the beautiful country of Albania. Driving in Albania is not particularly difficult and they have right-hand traffic.
